I think the shut down effected our recruiting more than other schools that are easier to visit and/or located in larger cities. We rely on convincing a few 4* players that they can have success here and it’s harder to believe if you don’t get to visit and experience the campus, atmosphere and meet the coaches and players you will spend 4+ years with. Blacksburg is not known by many outside of alumni. And getting visits is crucial to compete with the schools we are competing with. I suspect this year will result in more success with our targets due in part to the quality interaction with other players on our campus. Just a thought.....the vibe coming out of camps and visits seems much improved over the past couple of years.
